We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Team Leader to join our Retail Catering team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of high-quality meals for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure the delivery of exceptional food quality and service.
- Develop and implement menu planning and costing strategies to meet the needs of our diverse customer base.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety procedures, and quality control standards.
- Manage inventory, stock, and ordering processes to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with the retail catering manager and other stakeholders to achieve business objectives and improve customer satisfaction.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to the development of new menu ideas and recipes that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our customers.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, health and safety procedures, and quality control standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
