Building Automation Controls Specialist

Join our team as a Building Controls System Engineer and take on a challenging role that requires expertise in building automation, HVAC systems, and electrical systems. As a key member of our Facilities Management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our building services, working closely with trades staff and specialist contractors.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and optimize Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems
- Oversee electrical systems related to mechanical operations, general electrical needs, advanced automated lighting controls, and boiler systems
- Handle reticulated gases and refrigeration systems
- Provide expert management and maintenance of our control systems, including Building Management System (BMS), Energy Management System (EMS), and Boiler System
- Ensure the smooth operation of our campus-wide building management system and associated engineering software
- Recent experience programming building automation PLCs
- Background in HVAC support, along with installation, maintenance, and engineering of building automation controls
- Ability to read and interpret detailed plans and specifications
- Genuine enthusiasm for control technology
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in plain language
- Five weeks annual leave and five days university holidays
