About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer II to join our Manufacturing Engineering team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for participating in a wide range of maintenance engineering activities throughout our production footprint.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in problem-solving and lean manufacturing techniques to identify and resolve maintenance issues, ensuring minimal equipment downtime.
  • Drive improvements across the maintenance team to enhance efficiency, maintain high standards of 5S, and eliminate or reduce waste and non-value-added activities.
  • Complete important documentation, including highlighting errors or bad practices and suggesting improvements, and lead the progression of documentation through to completion.
  • Acquire services/components, generating and completing the necessary documentation, and exercising control over spares in an efficient manner.
  • Hold accountability and responsibility for ensuring all personal activities are reliably closed on time, against agreed targets, and complete training to maintain a current aseptic license.
  • Write clear and accurate maintenance instructions and assist with the organizing and delivering of training and/or instruction of engineering and non-engineering staff.
  • Provide cover for team members, including Technical Specialists and Engineering Coordinators, as defined, and ensure compliance with EHS and security policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • A good understanding of electrical control and automated systems.
  • A standard of technical skills of HND level or higher and the ability to demonstrate expertise in working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proactive and logical problem-solving skills, utilizing the company's lean philosophies.
  • Ability to work to critical timelines and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Alignment to COMAH standards is critical.
