About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer II to join our Manufacturing Engineering team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for participating in a wide range of maintenance engineering activities throughout our production footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in problem-solving and lean manufacturing techniques to identify and implement corrective actions during maintenance incidents.
  • Drive improvements across the maintenance team to improve efficiency, hold high standards of 5S, and eliminate or reduce waste and/or non-value add activities.
  • Complete important documentation, including highlighting errors or bad practices and making suggestions for improvements.
  • Utilize external resources to acquire services/components and generate, complete, and approve the necessary documentation.
  • Awareness of and control over spares in an efficient manner.
  • Holding accountability and responsibility for ensuring all personal activities are reliably closed on time, against agreed targets.
  • Write clear and accurate maintenance instructions and assist with the organizing and delivering of training and/or instruction of engineering and non-engineering staff.
  • Provide cover for team members, including Technical Specialists and Engineering Coordinators as defined.
  • Understand emergency procedures and follow safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with EHS and security policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • A multi-skilled engineer with a good understanding of electrical control and automated systems.
  • A standard of technical skills of HND level or higher and the ability to demonstrate expertise of working within a manufacturing environment.
  • A proactive and logical person who can use problem-solving, utilizing the company's lean philosophies.
  • Available to support Manufacturing through the Engineering Call-Out process.
  • Effective interpersonal skills are key to high-level performance in this position.
  • Alignment to COMAH standards is critical.
