We are seeking a Graduate Trainee Construction Planner to become an integral part of our Design team within the Major Projects Nuclear division.



Contract Type:

Permanent, Full Time - Hybrid working options are available, with an expectation of on-site presence at least three times a week.

As a Graduate Trainee, you will be engaged in a significant energy initiative, focusing on the delivery of nuclear-grade reinforced concrete and infrastructure for one of the UK's most substantial projects.

Your initial responsibilities will include working on a project from inception to completion, followed by involvement in additional nuclear projects within our Natural Resources, Nuclear, and Networks business unit.

The role emphasizes large-scale reinforced concrete construction, requiring familiarity with management of change and the creation of impact programmes within the NEC contract framework.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning efforts to execute an NEC Option C contract for constructing a reinforced concrete frame building.
  • Develop programmes for acceptance, impact assessments, weekly lookaheads, project control dashboards, reports, and programme narratives.
  • Evaluate project metrics, particularly work rates, to ensure key programme milestones are accurately tracked and represented in project dashboards.
  • Assist the commercial team in generating precise forecasts for project completion based on labor resources and material requirements.

Experience with UK NEC contract-based planning is essential, along with a solid understanding of reinforced concrete frame construction techniques and methodologies.

Previous experience in construction across various engineering projects is advantageous, along with a comprehensive understanding of commercial and contractual aspects.

Take ownership of planning, programming, and risk management from the tender phase through to project completion.
