Role Overview: We are seeking a Lead Quantity Surveyor to join our dedicated Commercial team. This position is crucial as we expand our portfolio in the public sector, focusing on projects such as educational institutions, public facilities, and healthcare developments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage approximately three concurrent projects, each valued up to £2 Million.
  • Collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager and company directors to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Oversee all commercial and contractual obligations in line with company protocols.
  • Ensure optimal financial performance, including profitability and cash flow management.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly cost reports for review.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Main Contract and Sub-Contract Forms and Standard Method of Measurement.
  • Conduct Monthly Valuations, including the assessment of variations and final accounts.
  • Facilitate the appointment of Subcontractors, ensuring adherence to company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate site records and correspondence as per contract requirements.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and design teams to enhance project success.
  • Work alongside Contracts Management to monitor project costs while upholding quality and safety standards.


Candidate Profile: We are looking for an experienced Lead Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in managing the commercial aspects of construction projects similar to those outlined. Alternatively, candidates at the Quantity Surveyor level seeking career advancement are encouraged to apply.


Support and Development: The successful candidate will benefit from the mentorship of a highly experienced Commercial Director, who has dedicated over 30 years to training and developing Quantity Surveyors.


Location: This role is based in the North West of England, with projects primarily located in the surrounding areas.
