Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join our team at Opogo. As a SENCO, you will play a vital role in supporting the diverse needs of students and contributing to the school's commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement inclusive education strategies to support students with special educational needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support and resources for students
  • Contribute to the development of the school's special educational needs policy and procedures
  • Provide training and support to staff on special educational needs and disability awareness
  • Work closely with parents and carers to ensure effective communication and support

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a SENCO or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of special educational needs legislation and policy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents
  • Passion for inclusive education and student development
