Job Title: Senior Research Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research Laboratory Technician to join our team at the University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the laboratory of Professor Steve Charnock-Jones and Dr Hong Wa Yung in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the School of Clinical Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out tissue collection and storage and molecular, biochemical and histological analyses of mouse placental and maternal tissue samples.
  • Assist with management of animal colonies (including genotyping).
  • Support the general work of the laboratory and have some responsibility for maintenance, replenishment of stock, housekeeping and laboratory cleanliness.
Requirements:
  • Education to A-level, NVQ level 3 or equivalent level of practical experience.
  • Experience of scientific research working with small animals and knowledge of principles and processes related to such work.
  • Excellent attention to detail, good organisation and communication skills.
