About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Group Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at Severn Trent Water. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality financial reporting and accounting services to support our business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting and Accounting: Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting and accounting services, ensuring compliance with group accounting policies and relevant Accounting Standards.
  • Group Consolidation: Consolidate financial information for all entities within the Severn Trent Water group, including management and statutory accounts, budgets, plans, and forecasts.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and guidance on complex financial reporting and accounting issues, including financial instruments, pensions, and share-based payments.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain regular communication with subsidiary finance teams to understand business developments and lead them through related financial reporting implications.
  • Compliance and Governance: Monitor compliance with group accounting policies and provide guidance on complex or subjective matters.
Requirements
  • Financial Qualification: Hold a financial qualification in ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
  • Technical Expertise: Have experience of a group consolidation process, either as an auditor or within a finance team.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
