We are seeking an experienced Facilities Officer to join our team at Service Care Solutions, working with a Housing Association client in Essex. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment across our hubs.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a key holder for all hubs and participate in an on-call rota for alarm calls outside of regular working hours.
- Manage the cleaning contractors, ensuring the cleanliness of all sites and conducting monthly walk rounds with the Cleaning Contract Manager.
- Coordinate space and Health & Safety activities, including events held at the Hubs, and update occupancy reports daily to support space planning requirements.
- Act as Fire Marshal and First Aider, coordinating rotas and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Perform building and statutory maintenance, including minor repairs, and ensure compliance with building regulations.
- Monitor building management systems, identify issues, and rectify them promptly.
- Record maintenance and performance information, updating records and systems accurately.
- Operate heating and cooling systems to maintain a comfortable environment for hub occupants.
- Conduct weekly compliance testing at all hubs and participate in refurbishment projects.
- Procure materials and services in line with established protocols, systems, and value for money principles.
- Support environmental aspects of Facilities Management and source adequate supplies of consumables.
- Create purchase orders and arrange contractors and sub-contractors to conduct works to the buildings.
- Manage hub access control, including issuing, deactivating, and tracking identity badges.
- Provide hub induction tours for colleagues and ensure building health and safety, including risk assessments and safe working practices.
- We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a similar role and a qualification in Facilities Management, or working towards a qualification and holding an IWFM Certification.
- You should have knowledge of health and safety legislation, including IOSH, COSHH, Risk Assessments, and safe working practices.
- IT literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office are essential, as well as the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- You should be able to undertake manual handling tasks, minor repairs as required, and establish and maintain excellent internal and external customer relationships.
- Able to work at pace in a fast-moving live environment, prioritise, and deliver to deadlines, with a professional and positive can-do attitude and flexible approach.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational, problem-solving, and time management skills are required.
- You should be able to travel to various locations as necessary, including out of hours and weekends on an on-call rota, and hold a Full UK Driving License.
