About the Role:

The successful candidates will work in the Orthoptic Department at The James Cook University Hospital and our satellite clinic at Low Grange Health Village, Middlesbrough. As an Orthoptic Assistant / Clinical Support Worker, you will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, delivering efficient healthcare services.

Main Responsibilities:

• Participate in the delivery of patient care, working closely with qualified Orthoptists
• Conduct clinical procedures and observations as directed by senior staff
• Assist with patient coordination and clinic management, ensuring seamless service delivery

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Numeracy and Literacy Level 2
• Care certificate
• Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent experience

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

• Foundation improvement training
• Equipment training

Personal Attributes:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic IT skills
• Analytical and judgement skills
• Time management and organisational skills
• Commitment to professional development

Experience:

• Previous health or social care experience
• Clinical observation experience
