Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Distilleries Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting the efficient and safe operation of our distilleries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the current Bowmore and Laphroaig distillery teams to ensure high levels of efficiency and safety.
  • Develop and implement Planned Preventative Maintenance programs to maintain equipment to the highest standard.
  • Identify and implement team and individual improvements to plant efficiency and safety.
  • Be the main point of contact for all engineering work at Bowmore distillery/Laphroaig distillery, feeding back to the Distilleries engineering manager.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles, including OBSW, EHS, Visual Management, Autonomous Maintenance, 5S, and Focused Improvement.
  • Operate a Permit to Work system, ensuring all contractors supply job-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Engage in Hazard Awareness reporting and action, ensuring identified hazards are eliminated or mitigated.
  • Carry out maintenance and repair under Lockout Tagout (LOTO) system of safe working and update LOTO records.
  • Implement an autonomous maintenance program through operator training.
  • Analysis of poor or declining performance and implementation of effective and sustainable solutions.
Requirements
  • HNC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Multi-Disciplinary Engineering.
  • Recognized Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • Experience within the Scotch Whisky Industry or a similar FMCG environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Versed in multiple continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, etc.).
  • Possess a valid driver's license, for driving to remote plants.
  • Ability to work across multiple locations and geographies.
  • COMPEX and working toward 18th edition.
  • PLC programming.
