This is a challenging and rewarding role within the Ophthalmology department at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. As an Ophthalmology Clinical Support Worker, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical team in the outpatient setting and day surgery unit.
Main Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with the Ophthalmic team to provide a comprehensive service to patients.
- Direct and support junior staff within the Ophthalmic team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Escalate any issues or concerns to the line manager in a timely and professional manner.
- Work closely with service providers to ensure seamless delivery of the Ophthalmology service.
- Liaise with reception staff to ensure patient records are accurately maintained and up-to-date.
- Ensure all clinicians receive timely and accurate results.
- Use automated and manual equipment to measure patients' spectacles, requiring a high level of hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
