We are currently looking for a skilled Cloud Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in supporting our comprehensive software applications and microservices that power our quantum computing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain applications that support our Quantum Computing software stack.
  • Enhance and manage our Kubernetes infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop observability features and processes for our clusters, including performance metrics and alerting systems.
  • Implement new functionalities and create new software components while adhering to best practices and testing standards.
  • Modernize and refactor legacy software components to improve quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with the broader software engineering team to execute large-scale projects across the software stack.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and continuously update key project information.
  • Lead projects from design through execution, serving as the primary point of responsibility throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Present ongoing projects to gather feedback and effectively communicate features to end users.
  • Provide continuous support to users, addressing inquiries and troubleshooting issues.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 6 years of software development experience in academic or industry settings.
  • 2+ years of experience in developing enterprise-grade software solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience with Python, Go, or other programming languages suitable for microservices.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing user interfaces.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, or green card holder due to contractual obligations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (Master's/PhD) in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience with modern cloud development tools and container orchestration, particularly in AWS and Azure environments.
  • Proven experience in microservice architecture and full-stack development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to document and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Familiarity with diverse data representations and structures.
  • Experience integrating hardware and software components in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency with container technologies such as Docker or Vagrant.
  • Strong background in software testing and deployment tools.
  • Experience in developing software that interfaces with laboratory equipment.
  • Knowledge of back-end server infrastructure, including messaging systems and databases.
  • Proficiency in software development for Linux and similar environments.
  • Commitment to maintaining up-to-date documentation and strong communication skills.
