About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team at BASE Media Cloud Limited. As a key member of our Professional Services division, you will play a crucial role in leading the technical aspects of our department, delivering solutions for digital transformation and system integration projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Solution Design: Develop high-level designs of customer cloud solutions, including cloud infrastructure, SaaS products, and software integration tooling.
  • Team Collaboration: Brief engineering and software development teams on customer solution requirements and track build progress.
  • Quality Assurance: Brief, manage, and quality-check third-party and in-house developers' work.
  • Project Supervision: Supervise the testing and QA process of solutions with the engineering team.
  • Customer Onboarding: Supervise the technical onboarding of customers to production cloud systems, alongside the account management and support teams to advise on workflow and infrastructure optimisations.
  • Technical Consultation: Work alongside the sales team, providing technical consultation and advice during the lifetime of a customer contract and assisting with upgrades and platform design improvements.
  • Integration Management: Work directly with third-party contractors and off-shore developers to ensure consistent communication and quality of delivery across integration projects.
  • Customer Consultation: Work with assigned customer accounts to consult and advise on streamlining their BASE solutions, in collaboration with the sales and account management team.
Requirements
  • Cloud Experience: Previous hands-on IT infrastructure, networking, cloud platform, and software integration experience.
  • Media Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of media formats, media workflows, and digital video content distribution.
  • Infrastructure: Experience with AWS, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, and VMWare (or other Hypervisor).
  • Software Integration: Experience working with developers to connect and integrate multiple software systems via API, and a fundamental understanding of software high-level and low-level design, API fundamentals, development languages (Python, JavaScript preferable), testing processes, QA, and UAT.
  • Cloud Qualifications: Industry-recognised cloud qualifications, including AWS Solutions Architect (or other).
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working with Scrum/Agile project methodologies.
  • Personal Qualities: Passion for new cloud-based technologies, ability to work well under pressure, well-organised, and capable of meeting project deadlines and delivering work to the highest possible standard.
  • Communication Skills: Confidence speaking directly with clients, explaining complex concepts in easy-to-understand language.
  • Training Commitment: Willingness to commit to training programs provided by the company to expand your skill set.
  • Accreditation: Aspiration to achieve Specialist level accreditation or higher for AWS, IBM, etc.
