Excavator and Loading Shovel Operator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator and Loading Shovel Operator to join our team at our Leith depot. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various heavy machinery to load materials into vehicles, pre-sort waste, and maintain the cleanliness of the site.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a safe working environment across the site at all times.
  • Load materials efficiently into various types of vehicles.
  • Pre-sort waste materials according to company guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Conduct daily safety, greasing, and maintenance checks on equipment, documenting findings as required.
  • Check and replenish fuel and oil levels daily.
  • Communicate effectively with other operators to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Operate machinery at optimal loading rates.
  • Secure all machinery and cabins at the end of each shift.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks or requests as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Report any equipment breakdowns to your line manager promptly, following established procedures.
