Position Overview

Junior Marine Technical Coordinator – Permanent Position – Competitive Salary

This is a remarkable opportunity to become part of a well-established maritime organization. This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate seeking their initial shore-based position.

The technical support team operates collaboratively to ensure that the fleet is adequately equipped and maintained. This pivotal role involves overseeing the technical team and guaranteeing that the vessels are supplied, stored, and serviced in line with our Quality Management System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical team’s activities
  • Procure and manage inventory for company vessels, consistently aiming for cost-effectiveness
  • Track vessel operations, locations, and needs through efficient communication
  • Facilitate prompt delivery of supplies by coordinating with the vessel, port representatives, and suppliers
  • Maintain the inventory management system in compliance with the International Safety Management Code, ensuring it is current
  • Engage regularly with vessels regarding spare parts and inventory requests, providing updates on progress
  • Conduct vessel inspections and safety evaluations
  • Build and nurture relationships with suppliers, port representatives, technicians, and local contacts

Qualifications:

  • Solid Technical/Engineering foundation
  • Preferred experience at sea
  • Possession of or previously held an Officer of the Watch (OOW) Engine Certificate of Competency (III/1)
  • Exceptional logistical capabilities
  • Proactive and forward-thinking, with a focus on maintenance and procurement planning
  • Able to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Must hold a valid UK driving license and be willing to travel
