The Junior Mechanical Technician will engage in a diverse array of engineering principles while gaining practical experience in troubleshooting and installation tasks through guided mentorship from the Maintenance Division. The ideal applicant will pursue CompEx Mechanical certifications and gain exposure to working in regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the apprentice will be accountable for:
Ensuring all assigned tasks comply with legal standards and the organization's quality, health & safety, and environmental protocols.Fostering a proactive health and safety environment by maintaining high housekeeping standards, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and reporting any near misses or unsafe conditions.Adhering to company policies while collaborating with experienced Mechanical Fitters.Completing daily assignments to established standards with guidance from seasoned Tradebe personnel.Collaborating with the Mechanical Fitter and engineering supervisor to fulfill CMMS tasks and ensure timely completion.Working alongside the engineering supervisor to guarantee that all mechanical projects, enhancements, repairs, and shutdowns are executed to the required quality and within specified timelines.Reporting any equipment malfunctions, faults, or alarms, ensuring proper handling of issues and isolation of unsafe items.Following Tradebe's permit-to-work procedures, ensuring appropriate risk assessments and controls are established before commencing tasks.Participating in training or awareness programs for engineering tasks relevant to their work areas.Ensuring timely and compliant disposal of waste generated by the mechanical engineering team while upholding housekeeping standards.Training and Development
Observing, learning, and mastering a variety of engineering skills and processes under the mentorship of skilled technicians.Demonstrating acquired skills and processes progressively by working independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness of the Maintenance Division.Successfully completing relevant college courses throughout the apprenticeship, achieving the necessary academic and practical competencies for a Mechanical Engineering qualification.Understanding the significance of Health and Safety in the workplace, particularly concerning COMAH and hazardous environments.Developing the ability to execute technical tasks based on verbal instructions and supplier documentation.Learning to maintain workshop equipment and ensure it remains in optimal condition.Keeping a detailed logbook throughout the apprenticeship to document projects, tasks completed, and skills acquired.Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across plant and workshop settings.Performing any additional duties as directed by the Engineering Supervisor.
