Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer Assistant to join our team at Sunderland Association Football Club. As a Mechanical Engineer Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining all mechanical systems within the stadium and supporting across other club sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical PPMs and reactive maintenance to the highest standards.
  • Perform fault finding, rectification, and testing on plumbing and heating systems.
  • Assist in small installations and project works.
  • Complete inspection and testing of mechanical systems, including TMVs and legionella compliance.
  • Participate in the reactive call-out rota.
  • Be available to work all matchdays and major events.
  • Assist the maintenance team with general maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Complete paperwork and ensure records are kept up to date for works completed.
  • Manage and support contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with all of the Club's security, stock control, loss prevention, and keyholder procedures.
  • Ensure understanding, awareness, and compliance at all times with the Club's Health & Safety Policy.
  • Provide excellent organisational and communication skills, taking a proactive approach to undertake all tasks required.
  • Commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure.
  • Logical thinking in fault finding situations.
  • Apprenticeship support – Provide mentoring and leadership to apprentices within the business.

Requirements

  • Maintenance experience: 1 year (preferred)
  • Driving Licence (preferred)
