Since 1999, our ethos has been to equip learners with the full professional skills, knowledge, and acumen needed to pursue a career in the jewellery trade or set up as an independent designer/maker.
Job OverviewWe are seeking a knowledgeable CAD tutor to join our prestigious team of Diploma staff. The ideal candidate will have experience both at the jewellery bench and in using CAD Rhino software, although individuals with CAD only experience will be considered.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver a CAD teaching program using Rhino to Diploma learners at the Academy.
- Teach Jewellery Manufacture and Design units to Diploma learners at the Academy.
- Plan and deliver sessions, provide feedback and guidance to learners, and maintain a professional level of subject expertise relevant to the industry.
- Assess learner work, monitor progress and attendance, and maintain appropriate records.
- Undertake general course management responsibilities, including admissions and placement support through learner interviews.
- Ensure lessons, delivery, and assessments meet with the standards set by awarding bodies, prime contractors, and other organisations that monitor the Academy.
- Level 2 qualifications in both Literacy and Numeracy (or equivalent).
- Relevant qualifications in CAD.
- Relevant teaching and assessing qualifications (or willingness to work towards) and commitment to complete further CPD or teacher training qualifications if required.
- Awareness of the regulatory framework for FE academic awards and quality standards.
- Teaching experience, particularly in the areas of CAD.
- Experience using Rhino in a jewellery design context.
- Experience of teamwork with strong team working skills.
- Desirable: to be a practising jeweller with strong links to art or the jewellery industry and demonstrable evidence of practice.
We offer a competitive salary of £27,500-£29,500 FTE, depending on experience, and a pro-rata salary for part-time roles.
