We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team and support the maintenance and smooth operation of our production facility.

Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for maintaining and improving plant machinery and equipment by performing both proactive and reactive maintenance. Your role will involve supporting operational efficiency, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and reactive maintenance to meet equipment specifications and operational requirements.
  • Work closely with shift managers to assist with machinery setup and operations at the start of shifts.
  • Act swiftly to diagnose and repair breakdowns, reducing downtime and ensuring smooth production flow.
  • Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure optimal performance and long-term reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address safety or quality concerns and recommend improvements.
  • Analyse equipment failures and breakdowns to identify patterns and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage and oversee external contractors working on site, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability and overall efficiency.
  • Assist in engineering and improvement projects, providing technical insights and hands-on support.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, breakdowns, and repairs to ensure clear communication across teams.
  • Assist with the maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Background in a manufacturing/factory-based Maintenance environment, preferably within FMCG or Food.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
  • Experience in both reactive and preventive maintenance, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations in a manufacturing setting.
