About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our management team in the Midlands region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to develop their skills and become a valued member of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate contracts with main contractors and subcontractors
  • Break down estimates into cost budgets and prepare tender packages
  • Liaise with accounts departments to advise on costs and revenue matters
  • Assess and approve subcontract applications for payment and supplier payments
  • Value variations, changes, and compensation events, and provide necessary substantiation
  • Prepare notifications of delay and petitions to extend programme, including agreeing time awards
  • Prepare notifications for and valuation of loss and expense, including agreeing additional sums due
  • Update project programmes to reflect changes and work with site teams to create cost-value-forecasts
  • Complete cost-value reconciliation reports and advise operations teams on cost implications and commercial risks
Requirements
  • Professional qualification or experience in quantity surveying
  • Experience in demolition, asbestos removal, geotechnical, and civil engineering projects
  • Updated knowledge of building codes
  • Exceptional written and spoken English skills
  • Exceptional math skills
  • Self-motivated personality
  • Attention to detail and organisation and time management skills
