About the Role

At Behaviour Interactive, we are at the leading edge of the gaming sector, developing memorable experiences across various platforms including PC, console, and mobile. Our vibrant and independent studio comprises a passionate team of professionals dedicated to excellence.

Our daily operations focus on two primary areas: Services and Original Games. The Services team partners with major players in the gaming and entertainment industry, delivering outstanding work-for-hire development and pioneering immersive experiences. In contrast, our Original Games division pushes creative boundaries with our unique intellectual properties.

Your Impact

We are looking for a Senior or Principal Level Designer to influence AAA projects within our Co-Dev sector. If you possess a fervor for Level Design and are eager to make a substantial impact, this position may be the perfect fit for you.

In this role, you will:

  • Design grey box level layouts that guide players through objectives, crafting environments with clear gameplay and pacing intentions.
  • Conduct playtesting and refine level designs, welcoming feedback to ensure the intended experience is achieved.
  • Collaborate with Level Artists to define and request necessary assets and tools for creating immersive environments.
  • Oversee the progression of your levels through various stages of development, ensuring design intentions are maintained until final delivery.
  • Establish standards for level dimensions, boundaries, pathways, and critical points.
  • Implement scripted narrative sequences or events in levels as conditions dictate.
  • Create engaging camera work that emphasizes key moments within the gameplay experience.
  • Provide time estimates as required.
  • Contribute to and develop design documentation as necessary.
Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the gaming industry as a level designer.
  • A strong grasp of spatial design, flow, and pacing.
  • The ability to produce detailed design documents outlining these elements.
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine and associated tools.
  • Experience with visual scripting and sequencing tools is advantageous.
  • A flexible mindset, capable of adapting to ongoing changes.
  • The ability to visit the office at least twice a week to engage with colleagues and mentor junior team members.
