The Role: Support Specialist - Homelessness Services

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Specialist to join our team at our Homelessness Service scheme. In this role, you will play a vital part in empowering individuals who have experienced homelessness to reach their full potential.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support to customers, encouraging them to maximize their independence and personal growth.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of customer needs, developing and updating personalized support plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and guiding them effectively.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with customers, ensuring they maintain their autonomy, privacy, and dignity.
  • Collaborate with external support networks to enhance customer well-being, confidence, and access to opportunities in employment and education.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to occasional emergency situations.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed written records.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with adults who have faced homelessness.
  • A positive and flexible attitude with a strong commitment to making a difference.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational abilities, along with proficient functional literacy and numeracy skills.
  • The capacity to adapt quickly to changing priorities while meeting deadlines and targets.
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care or a willingness to pursue this qualification is essential.
