As the Director of Advanced Fraud Management, you will oversee our Edinburgh-based team of Fraud Analysts, reporting directly to the Head of Complex Fraud and Quality. This position involves collaboration within Fraud Operations, supporting our UK banking services and international growth initiatives. This dynamic role requires you to apply your operational and fraud expertise to safeguard our clients and the institution.
Key Responsibilities
In your capacity as the Director of Advanced Fraud Management, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients who have encountered sophisticated fraud or scams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing daily leadership and guidance to the Fraud Investigations Team, ensuring alignment with operational and fraud-related objectives.
- Overseeing business operations across all designated functions and products, while evaluating control effectiveness, productivity, resource allocation, and quality.
- Driving actions and initiatives to meet business requirements and enhance operational efficiency.
- Building a high-performing team focused on quality and results, identifying and recruiting individuals with specialized skills and expertise.
- Fostering a culture of excellence among fraud specialists, aiming to minimize vulnerability to fraudulent activities.
Team Dynamics
The Advanced Fraud Management team will serve as the frontline support for clients affected by complex fraud or scams. You will meticulously investigate all facets to ensure fair outcomes for our clients, while also providing insights into trends that can inform preventative measures.
The team will be responsible for decision-making processes within operations and will analyze outcomes to enhance our operational model. Additionally, the team will manage the resolution of fraud-related complaints, collaborating with frontline complaint and operational teams to ensure optimal client outcomes. Quality oversight for Fraud Operations will also be a key focus, identifying areas for improvement and managing action plans to enhance service quality.
Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience in Operational Leadership, particularly in Fraud Management roles.
- Proficiency in Controls and Operational Risk Management within large, complex banking environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage senior-level relationships effectively.
- Strong management capabilities, with a focus on talent identification and strategic thinking.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to summarize key insights effectively.
- Capacity to perform under pressure and manage competing priorities efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- In-depth understanding of Fraud Operations within the banking sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of banking regulations, particularly those related to fraud.
