Job Overview

The successful candidate will be tasked with executing clinical responsibilities related to immunisation, primarily conducted in educational settings for children in primary and secondary schools, as well as in community health facilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer vaccinations to 20 to 25 school-aged children per hour during peak flu season.

- Collaborate effectively with team members, organizational partners, and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.

Job Duties

- Promote and facilitate the operation of our School Aged Immunisation Service.

- Assist Programme Managers, Team Leads, and Clinical Leads as necessary.

- Travel to various sites as required.

- Deliver a high standard of evidence-based care to patients.

- Engage in clinical supervision and contribute to the performance and development of team members.

- Ensure all clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints are documented, monitored, and addressed according to organizational policies.

- Participate in audits, providing recommendations based on findings and sharing insights with the team for collective learning.

- Attend clinical supervision sessions with the Clinical Lead as directed.

- Actively contribute to team meetings in a constructive manner.

- Conduct Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent from parents and guardians.

- Undertake additional responsibilities appropriate to the role.

- Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile

Experience Requirements

  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience working within Patient Group Directions (PGD) frameworks.
  • Familiarity with the Routine National Immunisation schedule.
  • Knowledge of informed consent principles.
  • Proficient in computer use.
  • Understanding of cold chain management, ordering, and logistics.

Qualification Requirements

  • Registered Pharmacists with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Paramedics and Physiotherapists registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).
  • Optometrists registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
