About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Shift Manager to join our team at Morrisons. As a Technical Shift Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products to our customers while maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and guide the technical team across all departments to ensure compliance with Morrisons' manufacturing and site technical standards and procedures.
  • Deliver food safety, legality, quality, and integrity for all customers and brands, ensuring that all designated procedures and practices comply with legal, BRC, and MMS requirements.
  • Investigate and report adverse microbiological results, manage product information through the M-create portal, and be responsible for the site HACCP Plan.
  • Support and advise colleagues on technical issues, develop and implement technical policies and procedures, and consistently manage site trends and risks.
  • Play an active role in achieving site accreditations where applicable, manage site internal audit processes, and maintain and manage site document control.
  • Collate site information for reports weekly, monthly, and yearly.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience or a degree in science, food technology, chemistry, microbiology, engineering, manufacturing, or business.
  • Knowledge of safety, legality, compliance, and quality across the supply chain and produce range.
  • Previous experience/knowledge of high-risk coupled with thermal processing knowledge/experience.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, excellent communication skills, and a solution-focused problem solver.
  • A proven track record of people management and delivering strong results through a team in a people management role.
