Senior Civil, Structural and Architectural Engineer

At Cavendish Nuclear, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Senior Civil, Structural and Architectural Engineer, you'll play a leading role in a dynamic design team undertaking traditional, bespoke and innovative designs of reinforced concrete, steel and masonry structures for defence, nuclear decommissioning and nuclear new build projects.

You'll provide technical leadership and expertise, and take on the role of Technical Lead on specific projects when required. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering nuclear design work, inspections and construction site support on projects for a range of public and private sector clients within the UK and overseas.
  • Concept and feasibility studies for multi-discipline design projects.
  • Analysis and design using engineering software such as Tekla and Robot, as well as producing hand calculations.
  • Preparing calculations, CDM activities, basis of design, material specifications, scopes of work, technical reports, inter-discipline design coordination and supervision.
  • Liaising with technicians in the preparation of Revit models.
  • Working with integrated multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-profile projects.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out with a positive attitude towards safety, both in design and in the office environment.
  • Managing project delivery, and mentoring and providing technical support to CS&A Engineers.

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, and provides hybrid working arrangements with two days in the office/onsite and three days working from home.

Essential experience for this role includes:

  • Highly experienced in the design of structures in reinforced concrete and steelwork.
  • Previous experience within the nuclear industry and design for seismic loading would be advantageous but not necessary.
  • Understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory standards.
