About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join DFS as a Finance Business Partner, working closely with stakeholders to drive performance through strong analytical skills and relationship building. As a key member of the DFS Finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial insights and analysis to support business decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly financial insights to support review of business performance
  • Provide financial analysis, learnings and recommendations to budget holders to support decision making
  • Generate key insights from financial/non-financial information to inform business action plans
  • Responsible for the accuracy of month-end management accounts, including reviewing accruals & prepayments and understanding performance drivers
  • Forecasting and budgetary control for specific areas of the DFS business, and support SFBP with forecasting and budgeting for their areas of responsibility
  • Provide analysis and insight to support and challenge budget holders
  • Monthly reporting to non-financial managers, trend analysis of key indicators & corrective action plans as required
  • Work with SFBP on specific development projects; developing decision support models
  • Support business case development, and play a key role in driving delivery and tracking performance
  • Deputise for SFBP where required

Requirements

  • Commercial acumen and curiosity to understand business performance and appropriate actions
  • Financial modelling skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities to identify insights from a mass of data
  • Dynamic individual with strong communication skills (including to non-financial managers)
  • Broad understanding of finance disciplines
  • Strong team player, working with and through others
  • Flexible to manage changing demands
  • Able to work to tight deadlines
  • Degree (or equivalent higher qualification)
  • Professional: final exam stage / newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Previous experience in a commercial role
