Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Market Risk Analyst to join our Risk Team. As a Senior Market Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing trading positions, P&L, and VaR on an aggregate portfolio basis down to the trading portfolio level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily analysis of trading positions, P&L, and VaR on an aggregate portfolio basis down to the trading portfolio level.
  • Ensure adherence to S&T Control Policy and escalate to appropriate level when necessary.
  • Create, adjust, and validate price curves working with front office to ensure accuracy to market exposure.
  • Work with IT and Risk Control Global teams on system and ad-hoc projects driving adoption of digital tools, global alignment, and timely implementations.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis of commodity price volatilities, correlations, absolute prices, VaR, or other duties as assigned.
  • Act as steward for trading system data.
  • Collaborate with Supply & Trading personnel and Senior Management to provide insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the underlying fundamentals of commodity and product flow.
  • Provide clear, logical recommendations in a concise manner to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with team members, Supply & Trading personnel, and Senior Management from all functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 2 years' Risk Control/Market Risk experience gained within an Oil & Gas or Bank trading environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to explain complex subjects to all levels from Traders through to Senior Managers
  • Ability to prioritize and work to deadlines
  • Highly proficient with Excel and trading database applications
  • Strong interest in acting as and developing into a market risk subject matter expert
