About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Part Time Document Controller to join our team at VolkerWessels UK Ltd. As a Document Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing documentation received by and issued by the project team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document Management: Identify and download new project documents, formally recording them on company servers and systems.
  • Communication: Inform key project team members of new document arrivals and provide assistance with distribution.
  • Document Registration: Log document details, including date received, title, number, and revision, as well as study discipline(s) to which the document is distributed.
  • Document Upload: Upload documents to the client's document management system.
  • Quality Control: Ensure project team members use standard templates for document preparation and checking of outgoing documents, making necessary edits for consistency.
  • Numbering Systems: Verify that documents use the correct numbering systems (client and company systems), allocating numbers as required.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the point of contact for the client's Document Controller, resolving any day-to-day issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in a Document Control or Quality Control environment in the railway industry is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Packages, with the ability to work independently. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat is a distinct advantage.
  • System Knowledge: Detailed working knowledge of ProjectWise Document Control System as used by Network Rail on their projects.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to prioritize and manage a diverse workload, with high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
