Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at South Durham CAMHS, Acley Centre. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership support to team members and the team manager, participating in service development, and reviewing/prescribing medication to Children and Young People.
Main Responsibilities:- Monitor and review Children and Young People's needs, providing high-quality care coordination and ensuring the best possible outcomes.
- Recognize safeguarding concerns and effectively communicate with alternative agencies to escalate appropriately.
- Attend Safeguarding meetings and core group meetings, contributing to the formulation of safety planning and risk management.
- Offer clinical supervision and caseload management, supporting the development of team members and promoting a culture of excellence.
- Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD/ RGN (RNSC - CAMHS Only).
- Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving.
- Postgraduate diploma in a subject relevant to the area or be willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years.
- Within the first year of being in post, hold a recognised qualification in a governed therapy/advanced clinical qualification e.g., Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy/NMP (Independent Prescriber).
- Extensive knowledge of normal child and adolescent development, child and adolescent mental health disorders, and knowledge of specialist therapeutic interventions within the CAMHS specialty and Child Protection Procedure/Policy.
- Psychological intervention/counselling.
- Relevant experience within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service specialty at Tiers 3/4 working as a minimum of Band 6.
- Clinical supervisory experience and willingness to provide clinical supervision.
- Sound management/supervision and organisational experience.
