The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting the Trust in meeting RTT Performance standards. This position involves aiding in the collection of RTT data for patients on clinical pathways and conducting thorough data quality checks and validation to ensure precise waiting times are recorded. The individual will provide guidance on RTT regulations and enhance understanding of RTT metrics and standards. Additionally, the post holder will support the Deputy Directorate Manager in managing the holding list of patients and executing various operational tasks.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will collaborate with the Medical PA Manager and secretarial staff in data validation, as well as operational teams, with the following responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the validation process utilizing PTL reports related to RTT. Monitor patients on an ongoing RTT pathway to ensure accurate recording of pathway details, facilitating the achievement of RTT targets while adhering to all RTT rules and Access Policy guidelines.
  2. Follow departmental protocols and standard operating procedures, contributing to the processes surrounding RTT data recording.
  3. Aid in identifying procedural challenges that may hinder data quality and propose improvements.
  4. Conduct regular audits and weekly validations of the ongoing PTL list in collaboration with the Deputy Directorate Manager, Medical PA Supervisor, outpatient staff, nurses, medical secretaries, and elective admissions.
  5. Generate reports upon request regarding holding list patients.
  6. Serve as an advisor to both clinical and non-clinical staff on RTT pathways, enhancing their understanding of the process to accurately adjust RTT start and stop dates in accordance with Department of Health National Guidance.
  7. Investigate and take appropriate actions when pathways are incomplete to ensure timely treatment for patients and maintain robust Trust information.
  8. Support medical secretaries and administrative managers with processes related to the RTT pathway.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Business Administration and/or customer service or relevant experience.
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics or equivalent literacy and numeracy level.
Desirable Criteria
  • ECDL or equivalent Microsoft application proficiency.
  • Completion of NHS RTT E-Learning modules.
Experience Essential Criteria
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Experience using intranet resources for research.
Desirable Criteria
  • Previous NHS experience in an administrative or clerical role related to RTT.
  • Strong working knowledge of NHS IT systems, particularly concerning patient pathways and RTT regulations.
