About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at the DS Smith Packaging site in Burscough. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out maintenance activities to meet quality standards, ensuring workmanship, processes, and procedures are followed.
  • Implement effective controls to manage maintenance costs and deliver plant cost performance targets.
  • Support a preventative maintenance strategy by undertaking predictive, preventive, and repair work.
  • Supervise contractors and ensure they comply with contractual commitments and site operating processes.
  • Document and communicate comprehensive maintenance records as necessary.
  • Complete training for self and others to maintain professional and technical skills.
Requirements
  • Sound engineering experience in a similar maintenance environment.
  • Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship with multi-skilled knowledge.
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Experience with autonomous maintenance practices.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and knowledge.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems (SAP) is advantageous.
  • 17th or 18th edition certification is required.

  • Competitive hourly rate of £23.95.
  • Equivalent of 277.2 hours of annual leave, including bank holidays.

A test will be conducted as part of the interview process, consisting of technical questions.
