Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care. As a key member of our Programme Management team, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of projects and objectives, while developing and implementing processes and systems to manage project information.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate, timely, and high-quality reports on project progress and outputs against forecasts and strategic aims of the areas in scope of the system board.
  • Work with Programme Director, programme leads, and key clinical staff to identify and overcome risks to ensure successful delivery of projects and the objectives of the mental health programme.
  • Support the training of local project delivery staff (clinical and non-clinical) within all partner organisations as required.
  • Develop and maintain a robust financial management system, monitoring project expenditure against forecast, and implementing plans to ensure that projects spend to required profile.
  • Support the Programme Director and wider team to coordinate spend between workstreams and partners where there are cross-theme initiatives.
  • Lead team and individual performance appraisal, evaluation, and evidenced-based examples of good practice.
  • Manage sensitive information regarding salary, individual performance, and sickness records.
  • Develop and implement robust information management systems and ensure the data collection and reporting systems are effective and linked with appropriate systems and data.
  • Produce and analyse highly complex performance data in accordance with internal and external performance management frameworks.
Key Relationships

The postholder will need to form good working relationships with a range of people, both within and external to NHS GM. This includes members of the public and service users as appropriate, senior managers, and external suppliers.

Partnership Working/Collaboration

The role will require close collaboration and partnership working with internal and external stakeholders across Greater Manchester. Collaboratively suggest and contribute to the development of policies in the Project management area. Contribute to the development of changes to working practices or procedures for own work area. Contribute to the application of policies outside own work area such as IT security and Information Governance which may have an impact outside of their own work area.

Planning and Organisation Responsibility

Plans and organises meetings; prioritise own project work/organises a range of events and conferences, including organising speakers; supports manage a range of projects.

Policy and Service Development Responsibility

Implement policies and propose changes to practices, procedures for own area. Also develops administrative policies as required.

Research and Development Responsibility

Undertakes surveys and audits as necessary to own work.

Freedom to Act

Works autonomously but can seek advice when necessary/manages a discrete area of work.

Analytical and Judgemental Responsibility

Exercises skills for investigating a variety of issues and proposing solutions; dealing with complex enquiries.

Safeguarding Children, Young People, and Vulnerable Adults

Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults is everyone's responsibility. Whatever your role, the welfare of children and vulnerable adults should be your concern. It is your duty to report any concerns through your line manager/designated Safeguarding Lead.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Prince 2 Foundation level or equivalent project management experience knowledge.

Experience

  • Good understanding of the Health and Social Care sector and an appreciation of the complex interdependencies within the system across Greater Manchester.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a complex change environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience of influencing staff at all levels to ensure that all members of the team, including users and stakeholders, own project objectives.
