About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at People Solutions. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing cost estimates for new contracts and ensuring that our clients receive detailed, well-written proposals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare cost estimates for new contracts by calculating manufacturing costs and adhering to company standards and guidelines.
  • Maximise profit and customer satisfaction while minimising potential risks to the company.
  • Prepare detailed proposals for each client, including managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Undertake general office duties, including answering the telephone, filing, and attending meetings as required.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in the industry, with a strong understanding of architectural drawings and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to formulate what needs to be manufactured and draw sketches of required items.
  • Understanding of material differences and gauges, ensuring correct material and grades are identified and used.
  • Understanding of machine capabilities and time taken for each activity.
  • Good communication skills and ability to complete mathematical calculations, such as percentages.
Desirable Experience
  • Academic or technical qualifications, with a minimum of English GCSE Grade C/5 and Maths GCSE Grade B/6.
