About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Respiratory Medicine to join our dynamic team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Respiratory department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with respiratory conditions, including lung cancer, airways disease, and sleep disorders.
  • Develop and implement sub-specialty interests and expand inpatient services in a new purpose-built Acute and Emergency Care unit.
  • Contribute to the General Medicine on-call rota and participate in cross-site working within the Trust.
  • Support the development of a service in your area of interest and drive through service change to improve patient outcomes.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant Respiratory Medicine with:

A medical qualification and registration with the GMC.Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Respiratory Medicine or General Medicine.Experience in Respiratory Medicine and a commitment to Continuing Medical Education.Ability to demonstrate a high level of Respiratory clinical experience and skill.Experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.Leadership skills and ability to build trust and confidence.
