This position plays a crucial role in the ongoing success of the company by providing technical guidance to support direct sales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the expert in product and application knowledge within the organization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective key opinion leaders in the sector.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of how the product range integrates into the market landscape.
- Offer technical support and advice to the organization, customers, and partners regarding the company’s media and equipment product line, including an awareness of pricing and client usage.
- Establish connections with influential industry figures and thought leaders.
- Engage in industry expert groups, such as PharMIG, PHSS, and NHS QA groups, participating in at least one committee and leveraging this network for conferences and marketing when suitable.
- Track industry trends and advancements to inform future product development and strategic direction.
- Coordinate the launch of new products, acting as a liaison to clients.
- Enhance the organization’s technical knowledge base by developing in-depth product expertise and facilitating training and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of market value and competitor market share.
- Contribute to marketing materials, including website content, newsletters, press releases, and blogs with technical writing and insights.
- Identify relevant exhibitions and plan and execute the organization’s attendance.
- Continuously seek to enhance skills and knowledge in microbiology and product offerings.
- Collaborate with suppliers as necessary to understand product development and availability.
This list outlines the primary responsibilities associated with this role; however, additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A degree in Microbiology is essential for this position.
- Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of the pharmaceutical sector, environmental microbiology, and GMP practices.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively comprehend customer needs and relay information internally.
- Team Collaboration: Must work efficiently with various departments.
- Organizational Skills: Capable of managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks.
- Attention to Detail: Provide precise and relevant information and guidance.
- Enthusiasm: Ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Professionalism: Confidence in presenting to groups and fostering relationships.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel internationally and stay overnight as required.
- Proactive Approach: Identify knowledge gaps and take initiative to address them.
- Additional Experience: The ideal candidate should possess some commercial awareness, familiarity with microbiological media, and experience in writing technical content.
This position is full-time, comprising 7.5 hours per day, five days a week, typically from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility for additional hours may be necessary.
This role is offered on a hybrid basis, requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office.
In return, our client offers a competitive salary ranging from £45,000 to £50,000 (dependent on experience) along with benefits.
Note: Candidates must possess a degree in microbiology and reside in the UK, within a reasonable commuting distance to the office.
