Aviation Medicine General Practitioner

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Practitioner with a specialization in Aviation Medicine to provide primary healthcare services to military personnel and eligible individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct Primary Healthcare (PHC) clinics for military and entitled personnel.
2. Perform examinations and Occupational Health (OH) assessments within the scope of practice.
3. Notify the local medical authority regarding any cases that may impact a serviceman's operational capabilities.
4. Complete necessary reports and documentation in compliance with governmental policies.
5. Participate in management reviews or case conferences as required.

Compliance Standards:
6. Adhere to relevant policies as communicated by the contracting authority.
7. Follow the regulatory standards established by the General Medical Council's (GMC) Good Medical Practice (GMP) guidelines.
8. Comply with Joint Service Publication (JSP) 950 Medical Policy.

Essential Qualifications:
9. Must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) on both the main register and the GMC GP Register without restrictions.
10. Hold a Diploma in Aviation Medicine or have completed the RAF Military Aviation Medicine Examiner (MAME) Course.
11. Maintain a current and satisfactory annual appraisal in accordance with GMC's Good Medical Practice (GMP).
12. Provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to Level 3 training.

Desirable Qualifications:
13. Previous experience with the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
14. Experience working within an MOD Airfield or Naval Base.
15. Background in emergency care or response.
16. Membership in the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) and/or a Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH).
17. Diploma in Occupational Medicine or Sports Medicine.
