Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct Primary Healthcare (PHC) clinics for military and eligible personnel.
  2. Perform examinations and Occupational Health (OH) assessments within the locum doctor's qualifications.
  3. Notify the local medical authority regarding any cases that may impact a serviceman's duties.
  4. Complete necessary reports and documentation in accordance with governmental policies.
  5. Participate in management reviews or case conferences as required.

Compliance Standards:

  1. Adhere to relevant policies as communicated to the practitioner.
  2. Follow regulatory standards as outlined by the General Medical Council's (GMC) Good Medical Practice (GMP).
  3. Comply with Joint Service Publication (JSP) 950 Medical Policy.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. General Practitioners must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) on both the main register and the GMC GP Register without restrictions.
  2. Possess a Diploma in Aviation Medicine or have completed the RAF Military Aviation Medicine Examiner (MAME) Course.
  3. Maintain a current, satisfactory annual appraisal in line with GMC's Good Medical Practice (GMP).
  4. Provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to Level 3 training.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience with the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
  2. Experience working within an MOD Airfield or Naval Base.
  3. Background in emergency care or response.
  4. Membership in the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) and/or Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH).
  5. Diploma in Occupational Medicine or Sports Medicine.
