Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Consultant to join our team at The Safety Department. As a Health and Safety Consultant, you will be responsible for assisting the company in its role as CDM Principal Designer. This will involve managing the health and safety aspects in the pre-construction phase of multiple projects, requiring strong coordination, organization, and IT skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrange meetings and issue notifications to stakeholders
  • Advise construction clients and architects on health and safety matters
  • Gather and prepare pre-construction information
  • Conduct design reviews and assist with the development of design risk registers
  • Carry out competence assessments and assist construction companies with pre-qualification questionnaires and SSIP accreditations
  • Review projects, conduct inspections, and develop residual risk registers and health and safety files

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM)
  • NEBOSH H&S qualification or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop health and safety policies
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations
