Health and Safety Manager Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to promote and enhance the health and safety culture across the organization. As the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of all health and safety protocols within the organization. Your role will ensure strict compliance with legal regulations, foster a culture of safety awareness, and proactively work to minimize the risks of accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's health and safety policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations and standards.
  • Regularly review and update safety policies to reflect changes in legislation and company processes.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Develop and implement action plans to address and mitigate risks.
  • Lead accident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Manage Fire Risk Assessment (External) actions, including fire schedule management & equipment checks.
  • Organize and conduct health and safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Ensure employees are trained in and comply with company safety procedures.
Health and Safety Manager Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in managing health & safety and environmental standards.
  • 5+ years' experience leading and developing teams.
  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in risk assessment, auditing, and accident investigation.
  • Evidence of implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 into a distribution/manufacturing style business advantageous.
  • Health and Safety certification (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA).
