Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct, analyze, and report on pediatric diagnostic audiology assessments utilizing techniques tailored to the developmental stage and capabilities of each patient, adhering to national standards.
  • Fit and optimize hearing devices and other assistive listening technologies as necessary.
  • Implement and advance evidence-based practices while referencing pertinent clinical guidelines.
  • Communicate potentially sensitive results to parents and caregivers, ensuring understanding and support.
  • Adapt communication strategies to guarantee optimal engagement with parents, caregivers, and patients.
  • Provide specialized insights across various care pathways and healthcare settings.
  • Offer clinical and scientific guidance, interpreting analytical data effectively.
  • Participate in regional, departmental, and multidisciplinary meetings to enhance collaborative care.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Essential: MSc in Audiology or equivalent; Registration as a clinical scientist with the HCPC.
  • Desirable: Membership in professional organizations such as BAA/BSA.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Essential: Current experience in electrophysiological auditory assessments for neonates.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in line management.

Skills and Abilities

  • Essential: Up-to-date knowledge and experience in pediatric rehabilitation, including the fitting and evaluation of hearing devices.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with specific hearing instrument brands.
