As a Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for the comprehensive service, maintenance, and repair of various HGV units, ensuring they meet and exceed industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Conducting service, maintenance, and repairs on a diverse fleet of HGV vehicles.
- Diagnosing and rectifying faults in vehicles and trailers effectively.
- Preparing vehicles and trailers for mandatory inspections.
- Performing routine 6-weekly inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations set by the company.
- Working independently or collaboratively on larger projects.
- Maintaining a tidy and organized workspace.
- Possessing a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the field.
- Holding a Class 1 license is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Welding skills are a plus but not required.
- Hourly rate ranging from £17 to £17.50, depending on experience, for a standard 40-hour workweek. Overtime is compensated at 1.5 times the basic rate.
- Participation in an on-call rota.
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
- Occasional Saturday work in addition to regular hours.
