Job Title: HGV Vehicle Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled HGV Vehicle Technician to join our team at TransportConnect Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our fleet of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy and meet the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintain all TransportConnect vehicles with a focus on HGV vehicles
• Carry out repairs at other sites as necessary
• Explore alternative solutions and recommend courses of action to resolve problems in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Maintain all workshop equipment to the highest standards
• Undertake routine Health and Safety checks and take action to identify and rectify any potential or existing breaches

Requirements:

• Full and clean C class driving licence
• Good knowledge and understanding of the repair and maintenance of HGV and other vehicles, underpinned by a recognised qualification in vehicle repair and maintenance, equivalent to NVQ level 3
• Practical knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations, including the identification and assessment of risks presented within the workshop environment
• Completion of an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in HGV Vehicle Repair or equivalent BTEC
• City & Guilds qualifications or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Proven track record in the repair and maintenance of HGV vehicles
• Computer literate and knowledge of a range of computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications
• Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Working Hours:

Monday - Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00
Friday: 07:00 - 13:30

Salary:

£34,848.00 (from April 2024) OTE

plus

Overtime, paid at x1.5 (time and a half) during evenings and Saturday, and x2 (double time) on Sunday

A van for transportation from home to site is also included.
