Deputy Team Manager Job Description

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Team Manager to join our Fostering Team in Essex. As a Deputy Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Fostering Operations Manager in delivering high-quality services to children and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Service Delivery: Collaborate with the Fostering Operations Manager to ensure services are delivered in line with The Fostering Services: National Minimum Standards 2011 and legal requirements of the Fostering Services Regulations 2011 and The Children Acts 1989 & 2004.
  2. Child Safeguarding: Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of children in need, in need of protection, and/or in care are promoted effectively through assessment and care planning.
  3. Foster Carer Recruitment and Retention: Assist in the recruitment and retention of foster carers, and support the timely completion of assessments.
  4. Quality Assurance: Quality assure all aspects of work relating to the Fostering Service, including Development Plan and Household Reviews.
  5. Effective Presentation: Present effectively at Fostering Panels, and quality assure reports.
  6. Partnership Working: Work in partnership with key agencies to ensure collaboration and information sharing for good outcomes for children.
  7. Team Management: Manage and oversee the supervision of Foster Carers and Specialist Guardianship carers.
  8. Team Supervision: Manage and ensure the effective management of the team, including Social Workers, Social Work Assistants, and childcare professionals.
  9. Budget Management: Ensure budgetary guidelines are adhered to by team members through supervision and applying cost-effective decisions.
  10. Staff Performance: Undertake staff performance tasks as directed by the Operations Manager to ensure staff performance conforms to professional and performance standards.
  11. Continual Professional Development: Engage in continual professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
