About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our Family Solutions team in Essex County Council. As a Social Worker - Family Solutions Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting families with multiple and complex needs, promoting positive change, and ensuring the well-being of children and vulnerable adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with families to build strong relationships and promote positive change.
  • Provide practical and specialist advice, as well as lead coordination for additional support services where necessary.
  • Manage your own caseload and prioritize cases to ensure effective interventions.
  • Manage safeguarding risks to children and ensure compliance with the SET child protection procedures.
  • Take the lead on an area of professional practice for the team, supporting team members and liaising with professionals outside of Family Solutions.
Requirements
  • Social worker qualification, registered with Social Work England, and post-ASYE experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and good knowledge in relevant professional areas.
  • Significant practical experience of working with families with multiple and complex needs.
  • Effective communication skills, good problem-solving and assessment skills, and a demonstrable track record of building and sustaining positive professional relationships.
  • Ability to work in partnership with others to maximize outcomes for families and use supervision appropriately.
