Role Responsibilities

Within our Migration Services Practice, you will assist clients in transitioning their traditional relational applications to a modern cloud-based architecture utilizing MongoDB, while leveraging the latest Generative AI tools and methodologies to expedite this transition. You will work closely with the Product team to identify application modernization and relational migration use cases, serving as a trusted partner in delivering productized features. Additionally, you will act as a bridge between the Professional Services teams facilitating customer application modernization and our Product team.

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to influence the MongoDB product roadmap and effectively communicate it to external stakeholders.
  • Adhere to existing best practice application modernization playbooks while innovating to address specific project challenges with creative solutions.
  • Contribute to customer implementations throughout the application lifecycle, focusing on migrations, including planning, design, deployment architectures, integration, testing, and optimization.
  • Articulate complex technical proposals clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Adopt a consultative and prescriptive approach that fosters trust and confidence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with a technology-first mindset to engage with top technologists.
  • Over 5 years of experience in enterprise-scale software solutions, large-scale software engineering, or consulting services delivery.
  • Strong background in developing or supporting applications that interact with relational databases using SQL.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL; familiarity with MongoDB is advantageous.
  • Some exposure to distributed streaming platforms like Apache Kafka and/or ETL tools.
  • High motivation for a role that integrates deep technical expertise with customer management.
  • Exceptional customer interaction and presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning; knowledge of Windows tuning is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with emerging Generative AI technologies and methodologies, such as utilizing OpenAI API with GPT LLMs.
  • Practical experience with MongoDB.
