Job Title: Lead Systems Engineer (Vehicle & Equipment)

Gerrell & Hard Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Lead Systems Engineer (Vehicle & Equipment) to join their Engineering team on a permanent basis.

Job Summary:

The Lead Systems Engineer is an integral member of the Engineering Team, responsible for demonstrating performance advantages to customers or potential customers and driving a highly skilled team to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the CTO and VP of Engineering to deliver the business's engineering requirements.
  2. Assist with programme and project management plans for internal and customer-facing projects.
  3. Take responsibility for the technical specifications, requirements, and delivery of vehicle and system development for projects.
  4. Recruit, mentor, and coach a team of system engineers, focusing on professional development and retention of high-performing employees.
  5. Ensure compliance with all UK and international laws and regulatory requirements.
  6. Travel internationally where required to support customer projects and systems.
  7. Ensure that the systems team are working in accordance with business processes, policies, and procedures, improving processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  8. Accountable for multiple budgets of approximately £500k-£1m (including both man-hours and materials).
  9. Direct line management for the systems team.
  10. Customer system project delivery on time, to cost, and to quality.
Requirements:
  1. Good knowledge of electric drive systems, harness development, CAN control, and Battery Management Systems.
  2. Change management, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  3. Planning, organisation, and time management skills.
  4. Ability to drive with a full driving licence and own vehicle insured for business use.
  5. Ability to work overseas if appropriate.
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge/Qualities:
