About the Role

Aramark UK is seeking an experienced and dedicated Sous Chef to join the team at Uppingham School, Rutland. As a key member of the culinary team, you will be responsible for leading food production across breakfast, lunch, and dinner services from the main kitchen.

You will also support with planned ad hoc hospitality requirements throughout the year. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the success of the education site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effective and efficient food production in line with recipe sheets
  • Cooking and prepping food for students each day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as any other ad hoc requirements
  • Full knowledge of all menu items served
  • Management of production to ensure minimal wastage
  • Maintenance of food levels throughout all service periods
  • Maintenance of food quality and brand standards
  • Ensuring the maintenance of high hygiene and health and safety standards in line with Aramark requirements
  • Capturing and recording all volumes consumed and overproduction
  • A good knowledge level of allergens and Natasha's law
  • Assisting in the compilation of all shift opening and closing checklists
  • Discussing ideas or improvements with line manager
  • Acting as a trainer/coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks
Requirements
  • Experience operating as a chef
  • Organised with a hands-on ability and strong work ethic
  • Passion for people and food
  • A full UK driving licence
